Spear-heading the All-on-4 technique, owner and expert Steve Champion has attended courses around the world.  He works with implant and dental surgeons, and implant manufacturers in the UK and globally, to ensure that ConfiDent Labs delivers the best available materials and up to date techniques for our clients.  He has gained a rare insight into this challenging, but rewarding, technique.

We have perfected a technique that allows a simple method of making a high quality final restoration, once integration is complete.

What is ‘All-on-4’?

All-on-4 is a technique designed for clients requiring essential work, for whom the only alternative option is dentures.  It is not a cosmetic treatment for people with healthy teeth simply wanting an improvement in appearance.

All-on-4 is a surgical procedure where all of the teeth, top or bottom, have implants.  Four implants are placed, and a bridge then created to connect them.  We use a titanium implant, which integrates with the bone, and is as strong as the bone.  We provide everything necessary for the technician, ensuring that the day is successful and stress free.

The patient has no time without a set of teeth; they leave the surgery on the day with a beautiful, accurate and durable provisional.  These have a good appearance, and the patient can eat normally.  The provisionals will serve until their mouth is ready for the final procedure (approximately 3 months) when the Finals can be fitted.  As the sub-structure is titanium, these can be expected to last a long time.

Results

We do understand the patient’s trauma of having all their teeth removed.  Positively, for our clients, All-on-4 can have life-changing results – with teeth that look good and feel good, too.

Teamwork and trust is imperative.  We only work with reputed dental surgeons capable of carrying out this surgical procedure.  We work dentists across the UK, and have forged excellent and trusted working relationships.

The Process

A patient will have an initial consultation with their dentist.  After the procedure is explained, a CT scan is taken and the dentist will ensure that there is enough good quality bone, and that the patient is a suitable candidate for the technique.

We provide a trained and experienced technician to attend the dental practice on the day of surgery and assist the surgeon.  A single arch is usually completed within 1.5 hours; 2.5hrs for a double arch.

I had used many labs for immediately loaded implant prosthesis, but was never completely happy with the finesse of the work. I had a few problems, but was unaware of how to fix them.  It was evident on meeting Steve that his knowledge was vast. Soon after using him for implant work, I tried out his denture work.  Again, this surprised me to the extent that I enjoyed receiving his denture cases because the fit and cosmetics were so predictable.  They renewed my faith in predictable, non- implant solutions.
